Bright Nickel Plating Kit

The Bright nickel plating kit produces outstanding results on steel, copper, brass and iron. This kit will produce a bright mirror like finish without the need to polish after plating. The finish is similar to Chrome, but with a warmer hue. The Nickel will also give good protection against corrosion. The size and shape of your tank will determine the maximum size of the objects that you wish to plate.

If the item to be plated is badly corroded and pitted, then you will need to get the surface smooth before plating. If the pitting is not to bad this can be done with a buffing machine. If, however, the pitting is severe, you will need to use our copper plating kit. A thick plate of copper can be used as a filler, then buffed to a smooth shine before applying the bright nickel. Used with a metallic spray, this kit is ideal for plating non-metallic items. Used in conjunction with our Zincate kit you can also plate aluminium.

Copper Plating Kit

The Bright Copper plating kit gives outstanding results on various metals including brass, copper, nickel, replica chrome. Plating on steel requires a nickel, nickel cobalt alloy or flash alkaline copper plate, before plating with bright copper.
For the restorer, copper plating must be one of the most useful repair tools there is. By applying layers of copper, and buffing between applications, an incredibly smooth surface can be quickly built up, covering scratches and minor pits caused by corrosion.

You can also use solder on top of the copper plate to fill even the deepest pits and scratches, before buffing and a final copper plate.

Alkaline Copper produces a softer and more ductile deposit than cyanide or acid copper. The soft deposit imparts improved adhesion and corrosion resistance and greatly improved resistance to thermal shock.

  • Removes the need for cyanide strike coats
  • Removes the need for Pot Metal Primer on Zinc
  • Removes the need for Stainless Steel Activator
  • Removes the need for Nickel Strike on Steel prior to copper plating
  • Increases the bond of Bright Acid Copper, Nickel and Replica Chrome to all substrates

Alkaline Copper is simple and inexpensive to use because it replenishes the copper in solution by dissolving the copper anode.
